Bathrooms

Bathrooms are unforgiving. Get the waterproofing wrong and you are tearing it out in five years. We work to the New Zealand Building Code clause E3 for internal moisture and use membrane systems installed to the manufacturer's specification.

01Scope of work

What we do, end to end

One contract, one builder, one number to call. We handle the whole project from the first site visit to handover.

  1. 01Strip-out, and waste and water reroute
  2. 02Waterproofing membrane installed to AS/NZS 4858 and Building Code clause E3
  3. 03Tiling to floor, walls, niches and shower
  4. 04Vanity, basin and tapware installation
  5. 05Shower, toilet, bath and heated rails
  6. 06Mechanical ventilation and final testing

02Where the value sits

Waterproofing documented

The membrane goes on to the manufacturer's specification, it is recorded, and the producer statement goes into your handover file. Council wants it and so should you.

Falls and finish that work

Floor falls set so the water goes where it should, tiles laid flat, joints consistent. It is not glamorous work and it is the part that matters most.

Fixtures sourced to your spec

Bring us a reference image or a brand list and we will source the equivalent product supplied here, or install what you have already bought.

Heated rails and underfloor

Available on any bathroom we build. Hard-wired rather than plug-in, because that is what the code requires in a wet area.

03Common questions

Worth knowing
before you ring

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

A standard family bathroom is three to four weeks. A main ensuite with a custom shower or freestanding bath runs four to six. Waterproofing has cure times we will not shortcut, and they are built into the programme.

Can the bathroom be moved to a different room?

Yes. We reroute waste and water as needed. Council consent is required if the soil stack moves significantly, and we handle that.

Do you supply the tiles and tapware?

Either way works. We can source through our suppliers, or you supply and we install. We will tell you honestly which is better value for what you have chosen.

What is the warranty on the waterproofing?

The membrane carries its manufacturer's warranty, and our installation is covered by the workmanship warranties implied into every residential building contract by the Building Act. We will walk you through both before you sign.
